Ontario premier Kathleen Wynne has stated the ORPP will become reality if other provinces can’t reach CPP consensus

I still find it galling that KW says she got a mandate in the last election to implement this. This as a (promise) issue was so far off the radar as to be invisible, versus the Conservative gaff of promising to reduce the civil service by 100,000. I think rather than the Liberals winning, I would suggest the Conservatives lost. I am in the group insurance industry and know of no one who believes an ORPP is a good idea.

I am in a small insurance brokerage in a small town and I agree with Bruce. Not to mention that some employees may not be able to afford to contribute it will be detrimental to our local non profit organizations which rely on contributions from local businesses. There is only so much money to go around.
