Foresters hands out community involvement award

A quality that is now valued and appreciated in the financial sector is community involvement – and one man has risen to the top in helping lend a hand to those in need.

Foresters announced that Lou Severino, the vice president of marketing with NIDA Marketing Group, is the recipient of its 2015 Foresters Community Involvement award. An international financial services provider, Foresters has a purpose to enhance the well-being of families in the U.S., Canada and the U.K.

The Foresters Community Involvement Award recognizes a sales partner who has demonstrated both quality business with Foresters and an individual commitment to the Foresters purpose through community service work.

“At Foresters, we’re committed to improving the lives of children and families but what really excites us is when our sales partners pick up the torch and embrace our purpose,” said Kasia Czarski, senior vice president and chief membership and marketing officer. “Lou has a long history of working side-by-side with us to give back and this award is well-deserved.”

Severino has participated in many Foresters community events but he has been a particularly strong supporter of Foresters partnership with KaBOOM!, a non-profit organization with a mandate to return the concept of play to neighbourhoods in need. Lou has participated in several full-day playground builds and has even travelled to other states to lend a hand.

In 2014, Severino helped Foresters celebrate its 100th playground at the St. Paul Music Academy in St. Paul, Minnesota. Two months before the big day, Severino, Mike Hrdlicka & Kate Murray of NIDA Marketing Group spent a whole day helping students sketch out and plan the playground of their dreams. Then, on the build day, not only did he show up to help build the playground, he even brought his own tools and equipment.

“Seeing the neighborhood suddenly bursting with activity as their playground literally grows right out of the dirt is a memory I will never forget,” says Severino. “Thank you for inviting NIDA Marketing Group to be a part of Foresters 100th playground build.”
