DA Townley’s Harvey Mason will step down from the company in December, 2016. The subsidiary of Pacific Blue Cross has taken the decision to name Naveen Kapahi as senior vice president from February 1, with the idea being that he will transition into Mason’s role at the end of the year.
“I have had the pleasure of leading an exceptional team for the past 26 years,” said Mason. “Naveen is an accomplished leader and strategic thinker, and the ideal person to lead DA Townley as we grow to meet the evolving needs of our clients.”
Kapahi has more than 30 years’ experience in actuarial consulting, as well as in funding, investment policies and plan design. He has also held senior leadership positions at firms such as Aon Hewitt and Mercer, and was the former president of the Canadian Pension and Benefits Institute.
“I am honoured and excited to lead such a well-respected organization,” said Kapahi. “I look forward to building on the excellent reputation that has made DA Townley number one in its field.”
Meanwhile, Pacific Blue Cross president and chief executive Jan K Grude took the time to thank Harvey Mason for his role.
“Mason has made great contributions to the advancement of third party administration in British Columbia and across Canada,” she said.
“I sincerely thank Harvey for what he has accomplished, and look forward to welcoming Naveen to this important leadership role. Naveen’s experience in global consulting is a great asset that will further our ability to deliver world-class results to our growing client base.”
Retirement is imminent for the president of one the country’s leading third party benefits administrators.
